Interesting concept though way I see it is either way its right around Turok roots. The Lone Ranger actually looks like a decent comic though I have never read into them. I also haven't checked out those Dynamite comics yet but plan to get one I will be sure to get the first one if I ever do I guess lol.

I love the comics but I never even picked one of the dynamite ones up. I could tell by the art I was not very interested. I still plan to check them out but i'm not expecting much.

I was so disappointed by dynamite (suck) "but I'm not refering to my buddy on this group"
The first issue I found hard to tell who was Turok and what was going on. There is one panel where they are under tree cover and the lighting is dappled it's so hard. And what's with Andar being an asshols.
I emailed dynamite as soon as I herd the new of a return to Turok and I offered my assistance to help them get it right and no reply. i emailed them three times with not one response after waiting g ages I drilled into them and told them how crappy they made it. I so wanted to bail on the title but then I wouldn't have all of the turoksonofstone made and that's not an option. The last few issues I didn't even read for a few weeks they sat on the box pile abandoned in disgust.

Yeah because Dynamite did it with no real passion I think they just wanted money. But there has to be 2 good ones at least one xD

"Turok, Son of Stone was created by Du Bois, originally as a Young Hawk one-shot, but Young Hawk and Little Buck were renamed to be Turok and Andar"
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaylord_DuBois
Let's read it and see if their's continuity. Turok is based off of young Hawk and Turok son of stone #1 could easily enough have been named young Hawk #1

I'm sure you've seen this link already turokJoe, but yeah, you're not really the first, sorry. :P

It seems like, for all intents and purposes, the concept of Turok as a separate title from the adventures of Young Hawk was the idea of his editors, not DuBois himself. Of course, DuBois continued to write Son of Stone up until issue 8, so he must have approved to some extent. The idea of Turok as a youth, as Young Hawk was, never caught on, obviously (especially with the artist(s)), and the two titles continued independently of each other, so I would hesitate to say that Turok/Andar and Young Hawk/Little Buck are 1:1 the same characters. Similarities and identicalities exist because of a shared origin via the issue's original script, but they stopped being the same once the editors stepped in.

You think it is possible your the first person to find clues, notice this, and say it publicly? You got my head going upside down right now hehe :) I now need to check out The Lone Ranger comics.

I don't think I'm the first but maybe I'm the first to say gaylord (funny name) du bois intended Turok to be young Hawk. It is the same characters so it make sense. Maybe I'm the first I don't know but we're a Turok group help me compile all the young Hawk stories into a file then we can all read it and compare. If this is true what I'm saying this is Turok history. Ya different name but same wrighter his creation so it is the same. And if this is correct for Turok fans this is huge news.

Not one person has anything to add? Is this group dead? Or am I talking nonsense? Maybe nobody cares?
Wtf??
I guess either nobody cares or people just dont know what to say.
While the forum is small, its far from dead.

Your the owner of the group since I see you post alot.? What do you think? Have you herd of this before?
Ha ha ha no i'm not the owner of the forum, Duke64 is.
I've heard of Young Hawk and Little Buck but i had no idea they originated from anything Turok related. Well that or i forgot about it.

Ya the guy wrote young Hawk stories first then wrote Turok so it's the same character by the same guy just an updated name probably to re sell young Hawk as something new. I'm extremely excited I found out Turok and Andar are brothers and their dad's name is high cloud.

Today first hand I got to check out a copy of The lone ranger #90 something. It was at a micro comic show And 100% there is a Young Hawk story. It's not one or two pages like I thought it's like 5 or 6.
Their it is Turok and Andar running around doing stuff I didn't want to take a long time and read the hole thing because I didn't have 25.00 and I thought it would be rude to ask to photograph it. I got a few people's numbers and I'm going to ask them to scann or take a picture of all of their the lone ranger comics young Hawk stories. To Reiterate Turok Son of stone #1 1954 is not the first appearance of the characters and maybe even the entirety of the story. If you can help if you have any line ranger.ger comics or access to them can you email me the young Hawk stories?

Hey guys I'm new here and I'm so happy I found a specific group dedicated to Turok. I'm Woking on a project it's just started. I'm hopeing you guys can help or offer ideas or knowledge.
So I'm a long time fan of the comic and it's been a dream of mine to have issue one of Turok Son of stone. I've achieved my goal over a year ago. But with a bit of research I find out Turok actually started as young Hawk as a partial page per issue of lone ranger starting in issue 11 and running 134 issues. So that means to read all the exploits of Turok before son of stone you need to collect all thoes issues of the lone ranger. My goal hopefully with out having to buy 134 issues of the lone ranger. Is to compile a digital file with all of young hawks exploits.
With all this said did you know "probably do" Gaylord du bois may have written stories in the funnies durring 1920-1950 something. Just before lone ranger. My theory if correct if we look back in the funnies we can find the first Indian du bois wrote about the first rendition of his character that became young Hawk and later Turok in dell comics.
I also read some place that the broken up stories in the lone ranger are actually Turok Son of stone story but with young hawks and little buck. We would have to read all of the lone rangers to find out.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
