It seems like, for all intents and purposes, the concept of Turok as a separate title from the adventures of Young Hawk was the idea of his editors, not DuBois himself. Of course, DuBois continued to write Son of Stone up until issue 8, so he must have approved to some extent. The idea of Turok as a youth, as Young Hawk was, never caught on, obviously (especially with the artist(s)), and the two titles continued independently of each other, so I would hesitate to say that Turok/Andar and Young Hawk/Little Buck are 1:1 the same characters. Similarities and identicalities exist because of a shared origin via the issue's original script, but they stopped being the same once the editors stepped in.
