I've made quite a few changes on the map already today, changed the teleport sequence, added another Mag60 to the upper area, added some +2 health pickups, removed ladders on waterfalls - you can grapple and climb them now which is faster. And still adjusting the lighting. I notice it's a 16 player map but there's only 9 (now 10) weapon pickups in the whole level. There's about 20 player spawns. I moved the single "full Health" to the tip of the fountain, and maybe I could change that to "Ultra Health" pickup.

Hey One-Eye,
the multiplayer is pretty fun but visibility there is bad. So depending on the FOV a player uses and some other adjustments like Bloom and FXAA and that stuff, will determine your experience.

Setup is simple and there's no real options for server settings. You can choose game type, time limit, frag limit, starting map, and number of players.  But if you like multiplayer then it's good for $15, you'll be happy with it. I wonder when they will release MP for GoG. Has anybody heard mention of that? It will come eventually.

Morning in America, Hi One-Eye in the U.K. and everyone else,

Was fun playing Duke last night, he pwn'd me.  :-[

I see the word is out on this remix. I fired it up today and looked at some errors that I found so there will be an updated version of this at some time in the future. We all understand that this level was intended for the single player campaign of the game. I am trying to optimize it for the multiplayer frag counts. I fixed really a lot of errors this morning but I'm going to wait to post a new map until I get some feedback about what is crappy about this map. The reason I chose this map was because there is no nuke in it. So I figured get rid of the cerebral bore and abracadabra it's a great map. Wrong. Tell me what to change and I'll do what I can to make it better.

I think it needs more health pickups. And possibly change the teleport from the Dome area to the Park area.

Yo Duke, it's free content for your game. Just download it and see for yourself. I don't mean YOU, I mean anybody. I already found a bad spot in a spot that I did not change. It's still the (PC) City 4 map, I just customized it. With room for many changes. It could be one half (1/2) of a CTF map. I'm toying with putting the word out on Steam. What do you think? Where's chirac at? See if he likes it.  ;)

Ok so I did this very fast. It will be called a Beta so if we want changes or find errors please post here. So I butchered up the multiplayer map "City 4" and tried to make it have better gameplay. I removed the whole lower water section, and replaced that area with a garden or central park type area. I moved the teleporter that was down there, into the park.

I plugged up the deep well and moved the warp teleporter that was underwater, to the room with the domed top. I lowered the railing that lead to the grenade launcher and rocket launcher, but only a little bit. I re-lit the level to lower those super bright spots at the waterfalls. The lighting still needs some more work but it is playable now.

I removed the cerebral bore completely, and I put a shredder there in it's place. Opposite that on the other waterfall area, I added a tek bow and I added tek arrows to several spots in the map. I added a shotgun and mag60 to the park area and another flamethrower pickup. I added some mag60 ammo to the map in several spots and some more shotgun shells. I moved the firestorm gun just down below where it was into the new park area.

Thanks Jay for helping me figure out the problem I had with my packaging but it's good to go now. To play you have to download the kpf and put it into the mods folder in the main Turok 2 folder. Same folder as horus_x64.exe. Add a new folder named "mods" and put the kpf in there. You must have the kpf in order to join or host the server.

I'm hosting it now but I'm on the beta feed from nightdive so you might not see my rig, I hope so we need to try this!

Yeah, I  figured the engine would continue right past 10 because I know that some software edit programs will have a problem when they query 1, 01, 10 and so I numbered it started at 11 thinking that would work the best. I wonder what would have happened if I used 01. So I'm gonna post this map up ready to play MP. For the guys who are following this. I'll put it in a new thread so people can post errors.

Yo @ RoK, you can do it man. It just takes hours and hours sitting alone with your kex editor of choice. I'm about spinning out of my mind right now trying to redo the lighting on this map and I'm going insane  :o and whacha - whosaiddat. As I've said before we learn more from our mistakes than we do from success. I will have the "City 4" map customized and ready for MP today. Then we will see if it's any good or not. Somebody get your IP ready for a custom MP match.

Jay you are right I have the map working.

You know I think the "devs" (I hate that - dev's my a$$) the guys at nightdive are going to put out some kind of dedicated server for G0G version and that will probably have settings for the weapons. It's just a matter of not enuff time and manpower to 'git er done". But it's just my best guess. I can't see them NOT releasing multiplayer to the G0G users.

So I'll fix up the lighting a bit on this GazCity4-Reloaded map and we can try it out later. I changed a lot of things on it that I hope will improve gameplay. I did remove the bore.  ;D

Well then this map is not complete, but it's playable and a lot better than "City 4" for multiplayer. Although the one that I sent you has a vertex error that I have since fixed.

Well I got it in there finally, but only by cheating and swapping my map into another maps hub definition. Jay wtf? did you get it in there? I see your picture but the file I sent you is not named Gazers City?

the comment about the cerebral bore was just to be sarcastic, or ironic. I figure some people will use the editor for that right off.
