MultiPlayer Map City 4 Reloaded

Ok so I did this very fast. It will be called a Beta so if we want changes or find errors please post here. So I butchered up the multiplayer map "City 4" and tried to make it have better gameplay. I removed the whole lower water section, and replaced that area with a garden or central park type area. I moved the teleporter that was down there, into the park.

I plugged up the deep well and moved the warp teleporter that was underwater, to the room with the domed top. I lowered the railing that lead to the grenade launcher and rocket launcher, but only a little bit. I re-lit the level to lower those super bright spots at the waterfalls. The lighting still needs some more work but it is playable now.

I removed the cerebral bore completely, and I put a shredder there in it's place. Opposite that on the other waterfall area, I added a tek bow and I added tek arrows to several spots in the map. I added a shotgun and mag60 to the park area and another flamethrower pickup. I added some mag60 ammo to the map in several spots and some more shotgun shells. I moved the firestorm gun just down below where it was into the new park area.

Thanks Jay for helping me figure out the problem I had with my packaging but it's good to go now. To play you have to download the kpf and put it into the mods folder in the main Turok 2 folder. Same folder as horus_x64.exe. Add a new folder named "mods" and put the kpf in there. You must have the kpf in order to join or host the server.

 On the Multiplayer Menu the map is named City4Reloaded.

I'm hosting it now but I'm on the beta feed from nightdive so you might not see my rig, I hope so we need to try this!

You should post pictures of the map too :) Interesting about the water part turning it into a grassy area sounds cool because you normally don't spend much time over there at all.

Yo Duke, it's free content for your game. Just download it and see for yourself. I don't mean YOU, I mean anybody. I already found a bad spot in a spot that I did not change. It's still the (PC) City 4 map, I just customized it. With room for many changes. It could be one half (1/2) of a CTF map. I'm toying with putting the word out on Steam. What do you think? Where's chirac at? See if he likes it.  ;)

I'm in the chatroom on steam, download it and lets play. We could try the DirectIP

Yeah I wish I could code out a game like Kaiser hehh yeah I know what you meant. Okay I'm going to download now and check it out. Oh yeah be sure to update the op with a new link when you update sure you already know. Anyways, I normally play a little later because I got a bunch to do still until night. I am a night creature feature xD

Edit: Got to play it was pretty neat. My suggestion is to make a full map based on that part and add to it. Cool area had fun gg.

Morning in America, Hi One-Eye in the U.K. and everyone else,

Was fun playing Duke last night, he pwn'd me.  :-[

I see the word is out on this remix. I fired it up today and looked at some errors that I found so there will be an updated version of this at some time in the future. We all understand that this level was intended for the single player campaign of the game. I am trying to optimize it for the multiplayer frag counts. I fixed really a lot of errors this morning but I'm going to wait to post a new map until I get some feedback about what is crappy about this map. The reason I chose this map was because there is no nuke in it. So I figured get rid of the cerebral bore and abracadabra it's a great map. Wrong. Tell me what to change and I'll do what I can to make it better.

I think it needs more health pickups. And possibly change the teleport from the Dome area to the Park area.

Good evening Gazer.  I've finally succumbed at bought T2 again.  This time on Steam so that I can join you guys in MP. :)

Nice to see a new map (even though I haven't even played the originals!).  I'll download it and stick it in the folder. 

Are you guys free to play (and test this map) tomorrow evening (GMT)?  I'll be around after 18:30 if you're up for it. :)

PS:  Quickly jumped into the multiplayer only to find one server and I couldn't connect due to timing out... Not the most auspicious start. :(

I guess it's 11:00 pm now in London England. Lets just not get confused on the time thing, use this converter https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/united-kingdom-england-london-to-pst man we never had it so good when I was a kid. So 6pm your time is = to 10am my time. I could probably swing that for a couple hours. I'll look for you tomorrow. Hey and there's an instant messenger on Steam Communities Turok 2 page. Check that out.

I've made quite a few changes on the map already today, changed the teleport sequence, added another Mag60 to the upper area, added some +2 health pickups, removed ladders on waterfalls - you can grapple and climb them now which is faster. And still adjusting the lighting. I notice it's a 16 player map but there's only 9 (now 10) weapon pickups in the whole level. There's about 20 player spawns. I moved the single "full Health" to the tip of the fountain, and maybe I could change that to "Ultra Health" pickup.

I guess it's too soon for people to post about this? Well thanks to Duke I was able to get an idea about what changes to make and so I've updated the map. I removed the "full health" and added an "Ultra Health" atop the water fountain in the park. I also added another "Mag60" to the top area and changed the teleport destinations. I added a lot of health pickups and adjusted their respawn timers. I did a major job on some sectors at the waterfalls. No more ladders there. A minor lighting adjustment ... blah blah.


It has both maps in it. Both are available from multiplayer menu.

Hooray, thankx Deathsphere. I am being sarcastic about it because it's been downloaded over 100 times and there's no comments. Ahem. I posted a screenie and a link on my workshop page @ steam workshop (T1). Nobody posted any notes there either.

But I'm a giver, so it doesn't bother me right :-/
