Jungle Falls is a quick map I made to get a better understanding of how everything works.
The story is simple Turok's homeland is about to go under attack. He must get ready for battle. Most of this stuff was made to learn but I think I did a well enough job to share my first map.

It also comes with some bones armor texture for Turok and a different placed Knife model inspired by Snake's Brutal Turok knife positioning. I also do some scripting things in this including a placeholder ending sequence.

Mission: Collect three keys to open the portal to the next level Turok


More levels will be added to this as time goes on

This can be played on steam or gog. However if you plan to play it on gog you need to download the map and put it into the mods folder inside of turoks gameroot. If you don't have a mods folder simply make a folder called "mods" If you need help ye I will help.

Yeah, Shame Adon isnt here... Well great mod, Dude. Gotta ask though, Was this mod converted from the beta editor to the retail one? Seems huge for a day of work. ;)

Wow Sixty! Amazing damn job on this map. And the scripts are awesome too. Nice idea to call the credits screen and. Really really nice how you made it replace the hub map and make it so 3 keys opens the portal. I mean that is good thinking dude. This is your first map? I would seriously rate this map like a 10/10. I mean there is scene changes, many different enemies, and very progressive yet hub style feel. It actually feels like a Duke/Doom map with Turok style. The part where the hunters are hanging is neat because you can jump the cliff back over to the earlier part of the map. Idk just reminds me of classic fps mapping.

There are only a few things I can't answer for you guys. Most questions I could answer :)

What this map is: I hope it is an above average example on how to map for Turok (hence the map name in the files simply turok.map). Respawns, spawning upon picking up items, spawn ondeath, multiple scripts, enemy variants, a way to end maps, and a way to make it so you can't leave the level until you find the 3 keys (Duke and Doom inspired). When normally you can leave levels without getting keys. So what I did was make it so it acts as the hub ruins. Which in return you can't open a portal to leave unless you have the keys. So I do hope no one is offended by this map. Anyone can learn a ton from it just by looking at the files and opening the map. That is its sole purpose. The other reason I posted it on steam is because the Turok workshop is going to need help. Its not very popular yet!. But to me I will drop all other projects if I WANTED TO. So I could map for this. I plan to make an entire episode kind of based on Turok DH 2 with some Evolution inspirations as well.

But I am a totally fast mapper I should have another one posted shortly. And then another also and I started another. So I have 3 maps in the making right now one is almost done xD My shortest map however is for Doom 64 ex which took me 6 hours. And its not a bad map and will take someone about 8-10 minutes to beat :)

That is an awesome level it is Turok style. I haven't been able to post much but I always come and check on here still. This is great man. Congrats all Turok fans who get this I am not so good at mapping. So post and I will play. This have a Turok feel and its mixed up you see catacombs, lava, and jungle neat blend

Yes well all of my maps will come with a gog version and my maps are scripted to work in any situation. Its not as easy as one would believe ;) But don't worry I will share my map here first. New one coming Friday for gog and steam users once again buddy. I just think stats/ratings are dumb on steam^ Nothing in specific to much I just think they create bad environments imo. Hence why I made this forum give us credits for every post. Rather then someone else liking them.

Made a collection on there for all maps that I like so far. There isn't many up there but I included mine with some of the tutorial showcase levels by the devs.  But I can tell Dinosoid is moving in the right direction to getting a map out there your map looks good btw. I don't really like that other map on workshop xD there club turok. Its a funster weird map club turok yeah I kind of laughed :/ We waited 20 years and I understand it and I'm not hating but come on. That doesn't impress make real map guys! Anyways, check out the collection so far :) I can't include some because they are mods not levels keep in mind. Maybe change that later IDK but will just keep for levels for now.

Well cool that's awesome! Just glad some players seem to like it. But I just like to make maps even if not many people play it. Love to do it a passion of mine. Anyone who make a map makes history too heh and ppl who made the editor always go in my credits xD

Yeah, its a really nice map. Personally I like it alot more than the hollywood holocaust one (would look better with the original textures)

BTW, you guys are using lemmy's plugin  to extract n64 models, right?

It might be cool to see hollywood with its textures but I don't know I have played that level more then I can count and I like a difference plus Turok textures are better looking. I like temples, caves, and jungles more then modern city. Some good city textures we could use to make a city map if anyone wants to help get the textures ready. Turok 3 city textures :) If anyone does it put them on the catacomb walls textures perhaps.

Ancient Hollywood was much harder to build than this map though guys because of the oddity of making a sector based map out of Turok models had to bend a lot of rules xD I did in this map also but not as frequently as I had to do there. But I did not rip hollywood with anything its built from scratch. But we have been talking ripping models using lemmys tool lately yeah.

How can one go about getting Turok 3 textures? I would gladly set up a texture.kpf for you dude. I don't know how to get the T3 textures though.  I also want to send you some Doom 64 Hell textures!

This map is so damn good 64. Fucking amazing. Please make more dude. I already told you I loved it before on a message but I wanted to post it here. I tried the editor and I can tell you put a lot of effort in. Man I wish I can map like it. One day huh? :) I think the balance and the layout was really damn good especially being able to see one of the keys before you can reach it.

Thanks if you think it is good. Well a bit of focus and a bit of determination and anyone can make map too. I really picture areas in my head I look at it like a form of art. I LOVE IT! I draw maps all the time too for Turok, Doom, and Duke of course. I should post some of my drawings someday. Its funny because I am a horrible artist but I can draw map layouts :) A map I treat like is my painting whether others think is good or not going to paint the scene I see heh. Enjoy

We can always tell who has made levels before and who is really good at it. Well you definitely got it I mean this is serious work. I had a look at the editor and I opened this map in it. Some kind of awards are not needed unless there was over 100 mappers that's why Doom has it but yeah I hear ya Deathsphere.

Sixty Four great work! I'm a doom mapper and I can really appreciate this level in many aspects. The layout, design, gameplay, and structures are awesome. I really like the cliff details something that wasn't in Turok that much.

Dude you already know you played some of his Doom and Duke 3D maps lmao. He is mapping machine plus you're helping us with Soul Sanctum so you saw those 5 new maps for Doom. Glad you joined the forum dude. I thought you might like it :) Doom Dojo is right, awards would only have a purpose if there is like 50-100 mappers or modders. At the moment Turok is really low in numbers in those categories.

What would we even call those awards xD Cacoawards are obviously based on Cacodemon so we need Turok Dinowards? haha interesting idea though!

Just a thought with the awards lol sure Dinowards xD. I know you guys are right 64 seems to be the only one who has map anyway. I tried playing these other two maps I found on there and they're garbage lol! Why would you post a WIP map that is totally missing about everything even walls?? Ridiculous, sorry I like real levels/maps. There are some good mods on there though with potential, I honestly like Turok+ the most in mods.

Also, yes I played his maps before on those but I'm just saying I feel like he is getting even better. Things are sharp! It really shows when its a first level for a different engine/editor then you're familiar with and it still turns out great. Skill!

Really learned a lot from this level. Still think it uses the games main assets very well. Love the behind the waterfall catacombs the most I think and the skulls in the walls are awesome. I noticed you did more of those skulls in the wall on Ancient Hollywood but still! I wont say much because I am writing review for your map here ;)

Also, I noticed you unpinned all projects and just kept information pinned. Good job, maybe when we have like 1,000 mods certain mods can be pinned. For now I would just keep the important learning helpful stuff pinned like you have it.

Who wants to help me set up the layout and ways we do this? I could have an artist make some kind of Turok trophy image for winner projects ;) I think there should be separate awards that are very defined. More than one winner each year.

As long as its friendly it could be cool. The problem with awards is some projects dont get seen as much you just end up with popularity and skill. so what I would like to see is fairness and all things considered and tap on the back for ppl who dont get such thing.

Because not winning can either be discouraging or motivating so put big thought into that :)

Yeah lol when 64 sent me the Doom 2 map, on accident he included the Evolution map in the zip he sent. So I can confirm its been started and it was already looking familiar ;)

Yes Evolution level 1 to Turok 1 but not a port, a recreation from scratch using Turok 1 assets. Hope it turns out okay I did start it and never meant for anyone to see yet.

 I think I have to many projects at once and it slows me down but one day heh there will be a flood in multiple games. I would really like to get at least one of these projects off my shoulders though... Going for a clean slate so I can start fresh. But I refuse to not release my old projects that even taught me so much :)
