Turok General Discussion / Re: Turok on Gameboy
« on: August 02, 2018, 05:46:04 AM »
I really enjoy all of them.  They're all rock hard though.  Perhaps a little too hard for their own good.  Still, it's a very consistent spin-off series.  Graphical presentation is nice, the music is fantastic (especially Evolution) and the controls are solid.

In fact, I'm off to play Evolution right now!  :serious business:

Yes please!

It would be nice to see T1 get a bit of attention now that T2 has stolen the limelight. :)

An Evolution map?  Which game is that planned for?  Is it a new map for Evolution or is it an Evolution map being ported to T1/T2? :)

So, can I have one at a reasonable postage rate? :)

Turok Evolution / Evolution First Aid Kits on Ebay (USA)

I just thought I'd share this (mainly for Dino).  Another random Evolution promo thingy:

They're brand new and only $0.99.  Problem is that postage to Europe is $48.50!!!!

I mailed Digital Press and asked if they would offer a more reasonably priced postage.  Sadly, they refused as it's against their policy... :(

So, if your American or rich these look like a fun wee thing to add to your collection. :)

Cheers man.  All told, they cost me around £1 each which is really good considering they were shipped from the States.  Normally, postage from the US seems to be around £15 just for one comic!

I haven't bought it yet.  It's getting pretty close to payday though! ;)

Other Games / Re: Halo Wars InCOMING

Makes me wonder why M$ won't release true Halo games on PC these days.  Perhaps it would show their Xbox hardware to be the underpowered/overpriced thing it is?  I suppose they need to differentiate their hardware platform form their software platform somehow.

Still, I might pick this up when it ends up in a flash sale sometime down the line.

PS:  Yes, Windows 10 is pants.  I really regret 'upgrading' from Windows 7.  Broken 5.1 surround support, broken Bluetooth support for my DS4 controller, an extra log-in screen, spyware built-in by default... and now the Calculator app has broken!  Good job, Microshaft...

Yep, I got in from work yesterday to find it sitting on the sideboard.  So, now it's official, I have a whole 2 Turok games in physical form... My collection's growing like wildfire!

So, I got a good deal and I'm now the proud owner of issues 01-30 of Valiant's Turok: Dinosaur Hunter as well as the yearbook.

I've read them in digital format before but I couldn't resist getting my grubby fingers on real paper.

Up until recently, the only comic I really bought was 2000AD.  It's quite fun going back and catching up on some of the more quirky American titles.

Next stop - grabbing the 4 Dark Horse comics before going back to finish my Valiant run. :)
