Yeah I like the Dragonbreath shotgun that's very nice and sleek I like how it travels slower and has some spark like effect to, this could be one of my favorites I seen. Now I remember the Particle Accelerator turning colors now so that was you :) another cool touch. I noticed some new sounds are in there to I am going to play more for sure. All of it was pretty creative actually.



Like the smoke trail it leaves behind to nice.

A Doom contest here. Its a pretty cool one and has a great PC prize. We just have to imagine a weapon and say what it does to enemies who ever comes up with the best new Demon Slayer wins.

Added some info on some of the defs files to the guide.  Would be nice to get some scripting info up next, but that's quite a can of worms...

Yeah you should post the dragon breath shotgun shells dude wouldn't mind checking them out. Also, really good to see another person writing some guides for Turok I thought it was kind of sad that there was only one person doing it. Seemed like that was lonely though. Nice job!

It is really nice to see indeed and good to. I'm so busy lately its tough I been trying to work on something for Turok again now though. Was messing with something last night felt good to be home :))

Also, I like sufficient mods for Turok actually. Nothing to game changing just a little brush of your art to the game because the game is already so fun imo. Like the Doom sounds that is a nifty little mod shotgun sounded good as Dooms. Simple yet effective and creative are also good mods to try. I would play them aswell :P I will soon post a quick mod as soon as I can. I will get to work on it now.

This is a month old already, but I only came across it recently:

Basically, Gearbox contends that a contract TerminX has with 3DRealms is invalid, because they claim 3DR no longer has the rights to Duke3D.  But rather than taking it up with 3DR, Gearbox is threatening TerminX, probably to avoid a legal battle with 3DR since they think TerminX will comply to avoid a lawsuit.  TerminX is calling their bluff, though, and is expecting to go to court.
I kind of know some about this one TerminX is my buddy though you may already know some. They already went after 3DR for the Mass Destruction teaser from the new 3D Realms/Interceptor team they have no need to go after them in this one. They had a site called alloutofgum.com and stuff like that to promote there upcoming game, the game eventually released as Bombshell. They thought they had a lead to making it a new rpg top down Duke game. Turns out they did not (as expected imo) and Gearbox sued them and the lawyer outcome is the Duke IP is best in one companies hands. So 3D Realms has nothing to do with Duke anymore only thing left for Gearbox to prove fraud is the contract for the android Hail to the King collection. Which the eduke32 team have the contract to release that... Gearbox thinks the contract isn't correct it was signed before 3DR lost full rights to Duke by Scott Miller. So you would think that it was valid before the change but somehow Gearbox thinks its a false contract. So 3DR has nothing to do with Duke anymore. All though somehow I think if it was false 3dr is going to pay for it at worst. Duke Ip has ways of creating stuff and crap. Well Eduke32 is a bigger fish in Dukes community.

Yeah I was following this hopefully Tx wins and all goes well. Man I wish there would be a new Duke that was kind of like the new Doom! Did you know that Eduke team released closed info about Gearboxes new Duke game? Its not really a new Duke but an "enhanced" version of Duke 3D featuring a new episode. Sounds kind of cool but they should be working with eduke not going against them :/

Gearbox had some lunch with Tx before this started and even showed him some of what they were preparing for there upcoming Duke project most likely set to release sometime this year for the 20th anniversary of Duke 3D. But when they went to get him to sign an NDA he didn't sign must of been something in there that he did not like. Gearbox says well "your contract is false." Once again a crappy ride for the Duke IP. There is more then all I have said though, and i'm sure even more passed what we are allowed to know. Either way though its going to be interesting to see whatever Gearbox is doing with this new Duke 3D release though I heard somethings like dynamic lighting and other new features in the build engine. Yes I would love a new Turok and Duke made sort of like Doom and Shadow Warrior 13 :)

Added that file overview I was talking about.  I highlighted the three areas that I consider to be the core areas.  Ideally each item will link to more thorough reference material in the future.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you made that chronosceptor staff mod. That's one of my favorites I saw before.

Makes me want to play I can dig those changes just making it faster alone is bad ass. Love it. And creating a longer time between when raptors maul you also speeds the game up cuz we wont have to stop gameplay and fight them off of us constantly. Great work all of it.

Thanks dude I just did this so I could play the game again but in a different manner. Yes the raptor mauls are now a lot less frequent forcing us to battle them almost always. At first I made it to fast hahah like Sonic speeds. It was kind of fun saying wow now Turok is way to fast ;) But I adjusted it, its about right now. I will make a proper video soon when I get the time to.

Added new change list item. As you may know Turok goes faster while holding the knife and slower with other weapons. I changed the the tekbow groundspeed to match (nearly identical) to the knife ground speed. That way we can have the bow or knife out to travel even faster :)

Turok 08 / Arcade Turok

I wanted to make a version of this game where it is more arcade like. More fast paced and the ability to jump higher and farther. I am aiming to make it feel less compressed and more free. As I did that I started thinking of other changes I could make. After making it faster I realized how I don’t like hiding behind rocks when the enemy soldiers are around so now we don't have to hide from them just go run & gun and take them out. Any suggestions or ideas for changes are welcome.

Here is my current change list it is simply notes as of now though rather then a correct change list. And I will update it as we go along. There are quite a few kinks with my changes that I have to work out.

Change list

Adjusted- Turoks groundspeed – (faster movement)
Adjusted- gravity – jump higher and farther.
Adjusted- Turoks health – Takes more damage- Makes hiding behind rocks pointless
Removed- stealth kill window/knife glory kill Must add it back in for lurkers and smaller dinos as the knife can’t reach them.
Adjusted- knife on screen position- see more of the knife
Adjusted- knife common attacks – much more powerful
Adjusted- Tekbow- more power, quicker fire rate
Removed- procedural weapon bobbing. *Missed the pulse rifle
Adjusted- human npc levels – slower and less health
Adjusted- raptors maul- created a larger time lapse between how many times a raptor mauls you.
Adjusted- raptor attack amounts- now 5 raptors will attack you at once instead of 3.
Adjusted- Comm voice repeat- We won’t hear our friendly soldiers saying “c’mon this way” 100 times while we explore.
Adjusted- minimum framerate from 30 to 60
Adjusted- Red screen Cool down time – made it shorter
*Adjusted- Tekbow groundspeed to match knife Ground Speed
