Well everyone:

I opened and started work on this forum on February 12th, 2015. I wanted to point this out as we will have our first year under the belt on Friday.

The start of this forum was motivated by Turok having a lack in community as a hole unit. In my opinion it was hard to meet other all around Turok fans in general. This was personally upsetting for me. I know and I am a part of other classic games forums such as Duke Nukem and Doom. I wanted and thought Turok could and should by any means have its own forum and community also.  I think we all could agree we have met Turok fans we didn't know before including myself. There are other reasons why I started it but this is the main root of the forum.

We did a lot of growing this year and I want to thank all members for hanging around. A special thanks to members who have contributed and been a part of it, its really the members who make it fun. There is to many exciting things that happened and are happening for Turok to even name. I for one would like it to grow even more. Which I think it will with the work some of the forum members are working on here if they keep it up. Plus the remastered versions and there tools will be upon us also.  I have a feeling it will be a great Turok year :)

Small guide on how to export the models for your viewing. The models are packaged inside .bin files. Which is simply a file that has 1 or more objects in each model. The .bin packages them as one. So we need to open the .bin files to extract the obj files from it.

1.) Go inside your game.kpf

2.) Open the models folder and pick the model you want. (Here in my example I will just use the knife)

3.) Make a copy of the .bin file

Here I am copying my choice dyn_knife.bin



4.) Paste the copy of the .bin file directly into Turoks game directory.

5.) Launch Turok and at the main menu open the console by pressing the ~ key.

6.) In the console you need to type exportobj (then insert your file name) and hit enter

Example for me using the knife I must do:

exportobj dyn_knife.bin (hit enter)


(be sure to put a space between exportobj and your model choice)
 
7.) Once you do this you can exit the game and in your Turok folder directory (steam or gog) you should have the file and models ready for view in your choice of software. I use blender and misfit 3d. They should be in your folder like this after the console command.



This obj file can be opened in most model software.

Since we did exportobj we will have access to all node parts (pieces of the model)

If you want control over the model as one hole object I will write this in another guide.

Yup just ideas everyone, this was made for fun. I was already aware that there would be different opinions. That's okay at least we all will have a way to put them to use very soon! Duke he can go anywhere conquer anything and has already done it a few times based on the tons of user maps. I think Turok is the same :P Turok can take down a cyber demon in hollywood if he wants to 8)

At the current rate I could buy two copies for 26$ when its not on sale I buy two copies for 40$ that's a bit of difference for me :P

Any news about Turok editor??? I can't wait for it ;)

News! The marine cover is the regular one! The special edition have the Revenant one!
Also a new trailer with release date! Its my birthday!



Doom releasing on your bday hehe pretty lucky :P I bet you will have it then huh? I plan to get the game to interested to see sp now to and what kind of changes were made to the mp compared to that alpha I played or if there are any. Was a fun time though 5-13-16 is not to far away :)

Everything about it related to Turok xD not sure if trolling Dinomite. Hey I would even like to see city maps, in some of the Dinosaur Hunter comics Turok was in the city. Turok can go anywhere :P At this point, I would even like to see someone make a straight narrow path filled with all raptors lol! I'm taking a guess somebody will make those types and I even would play it just because there never was user maps before :P

Some cool ideas so far though^^

Well the editor will release sooner or later. So I thought I would start a little topic about types of levels we would like to see or make.

My list consists of some maps from:

Duke 3D - Hollywood or Red Light District

Doom- The Hangar

Blood - Cradle to grave

Shadow Warrior - Seppuku Station

As for originals or start from scratch maps I hope to see some:

Comic based levels - Levels based solely on Turok Dinosaur Hunter or Son of Stone comics.

Story plot twist levels - Levels that could possibly continue a story or levels that add something in between that still make sense.

Or creative new stories- Maps that make sense in the world of Turok!

I have plenty of ideas but I was hoping to see if anyone else had some light bulbs of there own :))
