The texture update is here! We got our own texture set with over 250 textures made (and growing), including a custom model imported!

Apart from this update, I'm going to divert attention to do sectoring for the Turok Overhaul map while making tweaks to Openworld along the way, in case anyone is wondering what I'm doing next, so the next update to this project might take a couple months like this one has. So a friend of mine made this neat model that I could use, but this is my first time importing anything.
Not totally sure what is going on, but whenever I type "convertobj TotemPole_MDL.obj" it gives me the error: Code: [Select] kexParser::Open: TotemPole_MDL.objTotemPole_MDL.mtl not found They're both in the "Turok: Dinosaur Hunter" folder, and of course I get an empty .bin for my troubles. My friend doesn't Turok mod, and i have no modelling exp, so I'm clueless as how to correct the contents. .obj conents: ![]() ![]() .mtl contents: ![]() If it helps, "template.png" is the name of the texture, I can't make heads or tails on what to do next. Edit: DoomMarine23 helped me import the model I had trouble with, this thread would best be used as a tutorial thread of sorts. 167

Keep up the nice work. Thanks! I started texturing vanilla because i notice some textures haven't been touched at for T1. With a lot of focus on T2 (and nothing bad about that, actually better that way) I wanted to get things rolling with the uncommon textures. Some of the plans after carvings is more enemies as well as level 8 stuff, but the last one in particular needs special care for hd imo. Oh man, that is embarrassing. Somehow I didn't notice the WIP projects thread, lol. I suppose I'll re-purpose this thread for my own projects and also post my stuff in the WIP thread as well. It could be an inspire and help thread, I'd change the name if possible to whatever you choose for organization purpose. 168

Got my own thread already to post things (2 separate ones actually) but I feel this is a good thread to give inspiration to anybody reading looking to mod. HD vanilla catacomb textures (stand-alone release upcoming) ![]() I haven't been a modder for very long, if I told myself from months ago that I'd be doing what you see above, I wouldn't believe it. Don't be scared of experimenting with stuff, it might turn into something unique. 169

Ye man, story goes he was one of the campaigner's henchmen, that's why he's depicted in this mural because he survived the events of Turok 1 (mostly by hiding from Tal' Set).
He's less known for inventing Zippo lighters. You can find these shitty lighters around Skydawn. |
