He's got his hands full at the moment, and I bet his business has increased since a week ago. This is a great thread because we can all see areas where the game needs improvement and maybe the 'modding community' can get a head start on the server .config settings and a 3rd party server browser and some things that people here might have experience with.

thanks jmmreview - good job - Gazer

Looking for game on beta turok ex 1.5.1
nobodys playing tonight and there's a patch. Look for Gazerbeams server or start running the update. common people lets RoK  :D

So I can confirm that the update works http://steamcommunity.com/app/405830/discussions/0/135512133546942918/ and provided me a stable foundation for gameplay. I hosted between 4 to 10 players for over 2 hours and everyone had steady connection for the most part. I was trying to play and monitor people at the same time so it was not very scientific. Jay Doomed was on for a little while, so he can give feedback, but just updating for you people who haven't tried it yet. The lag appeared to be mellowed out a lot.

Hi Smoke you've been rather quiet through all this opening day chaos. Did you load T2 and play it on a Linux build? I thought you asked about that sometime last week. I liked the open feel of the death marshes too. And it's the least confusing of the levels. Thing is that back in the 90's when gaming was new to me, there seemed to be more of a challenge to finish a game, like this one. It was harder because I had so little experience with these games. I was having fun on the n64 controller and it was much more difficult with that and soo confusing.

Now days I'm a bit spoiled and over entitled with all the games I have played and am enjoying now one on top of another. I take for granted all the effort involved in someone making this game. Not as much as most people but still, I do take it for granted. Turok certainly challenges a persons memory perception and that's no lie. I've been using you tube to help me back track through the levels. In '98 when I had T1 on n64 I didn't even have a computer. bwaaaaa!

Great Game I love it. Good to catch ya - Gazer

I would like everybody to grab hold of their private parts for a minute and hold on. Aren't we getting a little out of order?

Just like with the original game from 2002, this game will be added to and improved and smoothed out and made better. And Nightdive has given us the keys, to unlock the gameplay that we want. It is here now! But everything takes time. We have a new game, I am fukkin' happy about that.

WoW @ Alicia she's talkied more in 2 days than she has in 2 years. Now we can't shut her up.  ;)
They're mostly good guys around here - lol - but don't bring 'em home to daddy.

I am confident that some guys in the group here know, how to adjust weapon damage. And I do believe that Kaiser and Co. will get us some kind of server config/setup/browser/dedicated/fixthelagg thingy. As with all things it will probably take a little while. I used that CPU set affinity tweak last night and I got a great multiplayer experience, and I won a few matches. I need to test that some more. You guys and gals should test it too and see if it is a solution to some of the MP jaggedness. With a game like this, it takes a village to hash out whats good and bad. And then a few guys do the heavy lifting and create some solutions.

I like that chirac guy he's got some passion. Like Turok - chirac huh - get it? Really though I'm just a noob here and you people have been great to hang out and work with. Now we get to play together, yay  :D

Duke where's that server at, I'm gonna plaster you all over those tooty fruity walls. :p

Hey Dragon, try this link, it is easy and it seemed to even out my framerate. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=885625877

open 'task manager' before you start the game (right click the taskbar), start T2 and then alt+tab to task manager>processes>horus_x64.exe>(right click) Set Affinity>uncheck CPU 3. then OK

it seemed to help, try it and see  :o

If I had to play this using my Xbox controller the weapon selection would probably be a game breaker for me.

My compliments to Alicia. Great first post. This game has nasty weapon chooser. Too many weapons!

Hi Alicia, welcome to the Turok forums. I agree the weapon selection is hard and confusing. So too ADragon  ;).

The best thing that I found is create custom weapon keys. If your playing with a controller, I'm sorry.
For the weapon binds, I use Q-E-R-F-G-3-V and keys 1-2 for scope zoomin/ zoomout

So go to the options menu and select 'Bindings' from the left side menu. Then change the weapon slot to the key you want to use for that weapon. Here's the list of weapon slots;
Weapon slot 1 = Talon and War Blade
Weapon Slot 2 = Bow and Tek Bow
Weapon Slot 3 = Pistol and Mag 60
Weapon Slot 4 = Charge Dart Rifle and Tranquilizer Gun
Weapon Slot 5 = Shotgun and Shredder
Weapon Slot 6 = Plasma Rifle and Firestorm Cannon
Weapon Slot 7 = Flamethrower and PFM Layer (landmines)
Weapon Slot 8 = Grenade Launcher and Rocket Launcher
Weapon Slot 9 = Cerebral Bore and Razor Wind (sawblade boomerang)
Weapon Slot 10 = Nuke Weapon ? (I don't have it yet)
Weapon Slot 11 = Sunfire Pod
Weapon Slot 12 = Flare

So if you push the key one time you get the primary weapon and then press the key again and you get the second weapon. Both weapons use the same ammo. If you are out of ammo for any weapon type, you will be unable to equip that weapon until you get ammo.

So I learned this by trial and error. But it's much better than using the mouse wheel. You can also open your .cfg file and make the changes there if you know how to edit the file with a text editor (notepad or wordpad or other text editor).
