Doomguy must awaken, the demons will not go without a fight. You stayed in Hell and claimed it as your own. Now you must kill demons for eternity. By your hands they must fall to ashes. They will not just except defeat. The evil is deep rooted and meshed by the flesh. Anger, jealousy, and hatred surrounds you and it gives them power. Kill them, Kill them all! They only want your Soul and life.  To Hell With You!

I actually already played this one when it was shared to the Doom facebook. Awesome map crazy combo. Hope to see more Doom 64 ex maps from you!

I have 3 new maps coming soon as a mini episode :) 2/3 are already done third is about 70% I would say so soon.

Hey and Booyah!   The lesson here is that if you want custom textures and other assets, build them first so that you don't have to go back to your map and replace existing objects with the new assets. There are a lot of logs in my level that need to be replaced. And now I'm thinking hard about what other changes I want to make.

Hi Dinomite, can you believe that $75 bucks at bestbuy. The retail price was $59.99 and they were charging $69.99 because it was the hottest game at the time and sold out everywhere that it went on sale. That's why I didn't get it the first day 'cause it was unavailable. I remember I loved makin' that Super Mario fly too.

Duke your good to be able to figure that out, I bet it was difficult. it's advanced skillset to build custom models and skin them. And I guess a person could build a whole new game with this little engine and enough time. I downloaded 'Blender' but that will take months to learn I'm sure. Thanks again for the effort.

Lol, the lost land kinda jumbled technology so you got a console that's made of marble and plasma tubes :P

Lol so I was right it is a Playstation xD Also, making a table out of them. Reminds me of a Duke 3d technique I like that.

Nice job man pretty awesome you got it, nice getting the rock model in game :) I remember first time I did it, I was very proud of myself xD congrats. Turok on N64 was how I started also you're really not late if you are talking about Turok remaster its just a year old.

Yeah it does self damage a lot I don't think its a very useful weapon its more a cool weapon an additional touch to weapons I suppose.
The alien gun use to make the player pop up just a bit and takes damage. I learned how to pulloff alot from observing the scripts that make the push happen. Kex is a brilliant thing.

I really like kex so far in any format xD It is responsible for bringing back two of my favorite games (soon to be 3). And I mean like top 3 games so a big thing for me and gave them both editors. I still find myself in Doom 64 ex these days lol. To me it has outlasted BD64 not a knock on BD64 though that mod is fun as hell and on zandronum mp servers is great BD64 is pretty good for a great arcade D64 experience staying somewhat original Heavy Metal Doom 64. Even started a few maps for it also. I just think Doom 64 EX is the true version because it stays nearly identically true. I don't even have to go over kex when it comes to doing Turok. Nothing short of greatness :))

I know you have been looking at kex in full and man it can do a lot of things its a brilliant engine yeah just like you said.

That might be because the faces are inverted; In some cases it wont show until you render it.
Its expected when you rip models from N64 games with that plugin.

Just select the wole model and flip them (I believe in some programs the action is called "reverse vertex order"

Also, some games give out a duplicate model with an all black texture which you have to delete (turok2 is an example)

Final note is to weld vertexes so the lighting applies better to the model. In this case you have to specifically select the vertexes and then choose some option along with "weld to nearest", and make sure the  value is really low so it only connect the vertexes that are touching themselves.

That actually does help quite a bit thanks man and the link explains the hole 9 yards xD Pretty much what I was going through there, flipped vertices and stuff. Uggh models maybe in time they will grow on me. I learned a bit doing this one though.

Fun though I think I will go back to making level and come back to this soon.

Turok General Discussion / Ideas For New Turok Game by Nightdive?

This was posted on Turok Forums Facebook today :) I think that's important to me for creators to listen to true fans! I would definitely support Nightdive in making a new entry in Turok. Looking at the System Shock game they got going I could definitely get behind the idea of making an all new game. Not because I'm involved with NDS to a degree but look at System Shock demo and that was just a very early undecided stage. This is a much better company to do it than some of these other ones these days. I do not want Turok Battlefield Gears of War. I want Turok!

I know him so this is posted by a legit member of Nightdive(CEO). It was posted in Turok Forums so let's try to keep it within there only for now, at least for the privacy of this post. He knows he isn't making a huge announcement posting there he is just speaking with us. Thanks. Blocked his name for privacy.


My comment before this was saying how a new Turok should be like Turok 1 and Turok 2. Mostly jungles exploration bring back the catacombs, treetop village, lair of the blind ones, and Death Marshes many places similar to the levels of Turok and 2. Bring the Cerebral Bore back and all enemies/weapons from T1 and T2 mixed up! Also, bring back the magic and magic powers all the colors!

I could say so much for a new game though.

What would we like to see in a new Turok game in Nightdive??

I sent it to you in pm sure if you want it, I don't want to share LINKS yet because its not 100% done. The video is near done though. Would like to note that wiithout snake's help with kmats it would of taken me sometime to study on kmat files. I don't do very much work with models tbh but I got it into the game lol. Hmm models are probably my weakest point xD I can get them in the game and stuff so I'm satisfied with that lol but actually fixing and making sure newly added textures work is hard for me in model softwares. Its hard because I never tried much with models, most games I have edited use sprites. Still a bit confused why the textures appear fine on my model but they are flipped inside out when rendering :o
