in the console yeah: kex 3.3 EX 1.4.8
I was using the export/convert a lot today, and it seemed to be working correctly for me but I was having problems with the results. My scripting skills need help.

I dunno where Duke is at he must be taking a break, I'll try to help. GoG version might not work right. Steam has updated the editor to v1.0.3, check your version number at the very top border of the editor. I can send you files and see if your engine will import (convertobj). Your using windows eh? which version? I'm win7 home x64 and Turok (steamapps) runs in programs(x86).

Oh So Hi -- I found the error causing the crash Badger. Hey did you ever watch a movie called 'Red Dawn' (v1984). Badgers are mentioned as 'ferocious animals' in that one.
So I'll get it fixed up today. Thanks - Gazer
Edit: OK there's a Hizouse without the developer "1" problem. I'm not happy with it but there it is. The beta1 has better doors. The 'fixed' version the doors are transparent and they blink. On the steam page. I'll post a final release next week if there are no more problems.

I figured out the problem, 2 bad models - out of 16 total that I added. Sheesh I'm relieved it's not a bad fix. I say mapping for this thing is a real chore. I guess I'm spoiled from using Radiant in the past. There was a lot of people working on the same thing who generated a lot of solutions to problems. It's astonishing the scripting work you've done Smoke.
Thanks - Gazer

My best guess at this point is the models that I copied and retextured. I'm cognizant of the case sensitivity and I checked everything in that respect. So in testing my models now in controlled conditions I'm getting 'memory could not be read' crash log return. (with developer '0')
Eh - the little done, the vast undone. Gazer
EDIT: Smoke do you have anything on the hexadecimal codes?

Hey Smoke, Howzit?
Hey I posted my level without custom scripting (besides adding my mapid to the mapInfo.txt), but my level doesn't run without the developer "1" flag. Have you run across any information on what would cause that? I do have models in the game that are hakked and retextured, and then re-deposited into the game. That would be the only thing that could cause a conflict with original files. I haven't noticed any conflict though and no error messages besides game crashes at startup when developer set to "0".
Sobek.exe caused and exception - yata yata - hexadecimal code - hexa - hexa
Thanks - Gazer

I just noticed 5 minutes ago that at the top of the editor it says 'Turok EX'. I was wondering what the hell Turok EX was.
This is definitively the best mod for Turok.
Ty - Gazer
Are you saying you think Turok EX is Turok+? Its not. Turok ex is called Turok remaster the one on steam. Its actually called Turok EX because the engine that makes it is the kex engine. Which was originally created to make Doom 64 EX. https://doom64ex.wordpress.com/
Cool updates Smoke will give them a try this weekend.
No not Turok+, the regular Turok from nightdive is the end production of Turok EX. That's right isn't it? There's Smoke39's modding guide for 'Turok EX' and I thought it was some other mod for the game. turns out this Turok was previously known as Turok EX.

I have a wild blue guess, that I'm pulling out of the air, why it might crash like that. But it would be a long shot. I used the mapid_1 101 and that is the same mapid_1 101 that the tutorial map used. Although my warptid is unique. Also I noted that it is beta release so if I can figure out what causes it to crash then I can fix it.
Badger could you check your defs folder and see if you have mapid_1 101 set in your mapInfo.txt?
Thanks - Gazer
EDIT: update, I went in and changed all the warps and the warpid and that was not the issue. I think this level will never be developer "0". I cannot find a thing wrong with it. Being my first level with this editor, I assume that somewhere along the way, I gave a bad keystroke and it embedded in the map file and cannot be removed. With that being said I will do what I can to fix any other errors you report. Thanks.

Well I packaged it up and posted it on Steam. I'm sure there are bugs. Please post them on Steam Discussion or here in this post. When I fix the bugs and get it thoroughly stable I'll post the kpf here. just so there's not a lot of different versions on different machines. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=863167511 <--that should be it Thanks to everyone who gave me help, especially Smoke39 and Duke64. The guides they have made are important if your going to map on this Kex editor.
