Turok Dinosaur Hunter Modding/Mapping / Community Mapping Event

We're starting the first community mapping event for Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. So we're calling all our fellow Turok Dinosaur Mappers to help participate and make any map they want, and at the end we'll all connect the maps together with warps and hopefully it'll turn into a little mini campaign for all to enjoy. Amazing progress has already taken place so quickly and our awesome mappers currently include:

And if you're interested and want to make a map of any size let us know so you can take part in this first community mapping event.

Here's the guidelines:
- Make a map of any size from super tiny to as big as you want over as many maps as you want.
- Any theme for your map is good. (Jungle,Ruins,Tech, etc...)
- Place any weapons you want in the map except the fusion cannon and the Chronoscepter. You're map will be played in the order appropriate to the weapons placed in your map. Pistol and shotgun means your maps at the beginning, Grenade Launcher and Rockets are end game maps.
- Maps start and end with warp pads/portals to other maps.
- Submit your map(s) by June 23rd

Gameplay Tips
  • Press and hold the map zoom in and out keys at the same time to see your map stats.
  • You cannot change the difficulty while playing, if you do you will get a gameover.

Play Turok backwards. Start from the end and finish at the beginning.

Select "Start Normal Game" to play.

Playing on Hardcore begins with only the default weapons. Are you up for that challenge?

Turok 3 Shadow of Oblivion / Prototype (May 31, 2000)

I was playing through an early build of the game recently. Noticed some cool things like a new enemy at the start, more areas and details. And there's a swat walker on the street and it looked like that if you entered it you would have been able to ride it through the street section. Funny that the game seemed better in certain areas before the final version. Here's a playthrough of the first levels with Joseph.

Description: This is a mod for Turok 2: Seeds of Evil Remaster that allows cooperative play throughout the singleplayer campaign. It contains tons of fixes to the remaster and lots of additions, keeping the experience new and challenging for even the seasoned players.

How To Start
  • Copy the "mods" folder contained in the .zip file to your Turok 2 - Seeds of Evil directory. (Please remove any other mods .kpf files in your mods folder if you have any others including previous versions of this coop mod)
  • Start the game and select * Play Co-Op Game * from the main menu
  • Create a new Lobby.
  • Set the Game Mode to "Raptor Fest"
  • Set the Time Limit to "No Limit"
  • Set the Frag Limit to "No Limit"
  • Start the Game!

Important Notes
  • Only change the map AFTER you see the message "Go To: <map name>" not before. If you cheat and warp wherever you want then you will not be in the correct location in the map. And read the map name carefully and warp to the right map. Blind Lair, Hive, and Lightship are all non linear unlike the first 3 levels.
  • Open the console (with the ~ key) and type "call help" (no quotes) for a list of all console commands.
  • Type "call dif0" to 4 to change the difficulty in the console (0 = Easy, 1 = Normal, 2 = Hard, 3 = Hardcore, 4 = Ultra Hardcore)

Known Issues
  • After reaching a map exit, a message will be displayed "Go to: <map name>". As the host, when you see that change the map to that map and you will be placed at the correct location within that map. I'm currently waiting for devs to expose a change map function to script for MP in order to get this working automatically. Until then whoever the host is must manully change the map to the next one.
  • The RidingGun in River of Souls 1 doesn't sync correctly with clients so there will be issues. I left them in the map regardless.

I'm sure everyone who enjoys making custom models and animation mods would really like this. Just keep in mind these were only for me, but I'm giving them to everyone anyway so they're not fancy. If you're new to Unity and need to know how to use it then watching videos of getting started with Unity would be what you need. Unity Personal Edition (https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download) is free to download and you can use that to use these scripts.

You will need basic knowledge of how to navigate Unity (There's plenty of Tutorials online for getting started). And if you're interested in making animations you'll need to know how to create AnimationClips. And I'll explain how to use the scripts I made in Unity.

Mountain of the Sun v2.4 is a 18 map campaign that takes place right after the destruction of the campaigner and his fortress. Turok realizes the destructive power of the Chronoscepter must never fall into the wrong hands. Making the choice to destroy it for the good of all the lost land, Turoks path is clear. The metallurgical elements of the Chronoscepter can only be destroyed by extreme heat. The temperatures necessary to complete the task may only be found at the mountain of the sun, the home of the Fireborn.

Turok 2 Seeds of Evil / T2 EX - Primagen Boss Stages Explained

This explains the Primagen boss fight actions in each of his 3 stages. Includes percentages, wait times, Health values, and other info. This data was taken from the Primagen boss script as of version 1.5.6.

Stage 1A
  • 100% chance to wait at computer for 10 seconds
  • 100% chance to drop 3 bombs at random intervals of 2 to 6 seconds in between each with a minimum wait of 10 seconds.
  • 100% chance to spawn 4 drones. You must kill all the drones before continuing and there is a 8 second minimum wait time before continuing.
  • 100% chance to fly out and start his attack patterns.

Stage 1B
  • You must destroy his 4 tendrils with 40 HP each to advance to the next stage.
  • Dealing explosive damage to his head deals 25% splash damage on all tendrils.
  • Razorwind damage is reduced to 25%.
  • Each time a tendril is destroyed he will try to regenerate and cannot be harmed immediately after a tendril is destroyed until the regeneration process is done.
  • You can destroy multiple tendrils at the same time.

Stage 1 Attack Patterns
  • On Ground
    • 100% chance to Swipe Slow
    • 50% chance to Jump Forward

Ideal Speedrun situation
  • During Stage 1 hope you get the minimum total time of 10 or less seconds between each bomb drop (Good Luck! 55% chance.)
  • Kill the 4 drones as fast as possible (easy)
  • Destroy his parts as close as possible to the computer so it takes less time for him to fly back.
  • Destroy all 4 Tendrils at once to get only 1 regen cycle. (very hard)
  • During Stage 2 while the first 2 bombs drop there's a chance to skip the second bomb if the time to spawn the second bomb is less than 0.53. The bomb timer ranges from 0.0 to 4.0 at this point. So get a value less than 0.53 and you'll skip the second bomb. (Good Luck! about 12.5% chance.)
  • During Stage 2 hope the 3 50% bomb drops never happen to go straight to attack mode. (Good Luck! You'll need it! 12.5% chance.)
  • Destroy both claws at once to get only 1 regen cycle. (hard)
  • During Stage 3 hope you get the minimum total time of 6 or less seconds between each bomb drop (Good Luck! 67% chance.) For the second and third bombs if you manage to get the time between the next bomb 0 or less than it will not spawn the next bomb again. Giving you the chance to miss the 2nd and 3rd bombs entirely. The random value is -1.0 to 3.0. So hit a 0 or less to skip the next bomb.(50% chance each bomb)
  • Kill his Head as fast as possible (easy)

Explanation on why the 100% bomb drops don't always spawn:
A bomb is spawned on the 15th frame(0.5 seconds) of the open door animation. When a timer counts down to zero from a random value it will play the open door animation, but only if it is not already playing the open door animation. So if that bomb timer hits zero before the open door animation is done playing it will ignore it and the door will finish opening skipping the next bomb drop.
This can occur in Stage 2 for the second bomb drop and much more likely in Stage 3 for the last 2 bombs of each bombing.
