Turok Sanctum >>>> Steam workshop. At least for me since I can dl mods easier. Really cool!

This will be a great addition. And it should encourage more people to mod and map hopefully. Notice how Doom doesn't even need a steam workshop, yet Doom mods are one of the most played ever. Anyways, just saying good to have a database/review place. Seems really cool like the next step.

The original site has been completely cancelled and also completely UPDATED. I decided to go full on and create an official site. So this site is fully funded for the next 3 years atm (I want to see how it goes) This is going to be a site with reviews and even file storage for mods and maps that links back to the forums.

Each Map/Mod will feature:

A detailed review explaining there score and if they like it/ why they like it etc etc.

There own percentage grading 100% being Perfect 1% being trash hehe (maybe stars or points but I'm liking a percentage better) Don't worry that's just a bonus thing for visual we are not going to throw you under the bus.

Include a download link ;) of each the mod/map for easy access

Pictures of different areas/features!

Number points based on organization to architecture depending on the mod/map of course. This will be to help you see how we got our numbers.

*I hope this will encourage others to mod more. We can try to feature a 'Top Mods/Maps" section and all that. Let's see how this goes.

Turok Sanctum (WIP)
Review Site and cloud storage for Mods and Maps. With occasional news and updates on the forums. Fully linked, connected, and partnered with this forum there will be a big header for the forums which will lead here. Thanks Please standby.

More Info Soon: Please bare with me I'm all over the place!

*Do not mind the theme yet or anything but this is a preview of it so far. (Forgive me I'm only an hour of work in.) Everything's a mess even my numbers in the pic.

Going to be niice! Very good work 64. I'm still going to be one of the reviewers/admins also thanks for keeping that on the table for me. I got a good idea percentage ratings are good for SP maps and large mods. While a star rating would be good for DM maps/smaller mods?

Anyways, the reason we don't use the portal here because it doesn't feature as many useful plug ins for say a review site. Simple Portal and SMF are really good for forums but they don't do much outside of that. But we could use the portal to announce that there is a new review added or something along the lines.

Looking good.  It'll be nice to have a central review site and storage hub.

I'm curious, though, as to why you've gone for a separate site rather than using the portal for this place for such things.

Well tbh I don't know how many maps/mods there will actually be especially anytime soon with more time it can help. Paying for something is i don't know yet let's let things take motion and build a little..... Maybe a wordpress blog organized right. I will buy it a domain name soon either way. I just don't think we are going to be flooding in material to review like that. Test the waters with a wordpress here. I'm planning to talk with my servers and see how much it would effect me to also pay for the review site. I would like it to be similar to this one eventually but not just yet.

As soon as we get a title and the site up I will update this post. The reason for combining Turok ex mods and Doom 64 EX together is because there isn't much activity for Doom 64 ex maps/mods and the same goes for Turok. So there would be no point to make two separate places. More like an EX maps/mods review place pretty much. I made this thread so we can shape what we want to do better.

Doom, Duke, Quake, and a lot of the classic fps games have a site strictly for reviewing maps/mods/user content. Me and 64 are going to put together a wordpress site in which we can review maps and mods from Turok EX! Yes we can do it for all EX projects like the beloved Doom 64 Ex but Turok is the main focus for us at the moment. I was trying to come up with a name for the site. My idea was to combine terms from Doom 64 and Turok together to create a nice title. I haven't came up with it yet but Duke is also thinking now. My idea was to combine two map names together from Turok and Doom 64. Or map/monster name combos, it doesn't matter.

Doom 64 map names I like:

MAP10: The Bleeding
MAP11: Terror Core
MAP12: Altar Of Pain
MAP30: The Lair (secret level)
MAP13: Dark Citadel
MAP14: Eye Of The Storm
MAP31: In The Void (secret level)
MAP23: Unholy Temple
MAP28: The Absolution

Combine one of these with a Turok level from Turok 1, 2 or any Turok.  Here are a few I thought would work for a combo.

The Lost Land
Lair of the Blind Ones
River of Souls
The Treetop Village
The Hub Ruins
Death Marshes
Hive of the Mantids

My first idea but probably won't stick: PrimagenLair.com (I like how Lair is used in both Doom 64 and Turok 2.)

What we will do is review maps and mods based on a star rating and our own opinion of the mod or map with detailed insight and enthusiasm.

Who is reviewing: Jay Doomed and SixtyFour

Jay(me): I know a lot about Doom wads so my experience and ratings would be closely related to the structure of what I know. Don't get me wrong i love Turok I have played them all and know it very well and I know it should not be DOOM. It should be the very essence of Turok. I also can make levels and understand level layout and code organizations.

SixtyFour: You know he is a mapper/modder and has already reviewed multiple maps for Duke Nukem 3D. He plays a lot of Doom and you know damn well loves Turok with a passion. Read one of his reviews. Really good!

So I think we have some good outlook here. And I hope it encourages the community to want to map/mod more as we can review all of your great work.

If you have any ideas let me know. We also would be reviewing all Turok projects on there not just Turok 1.
