Looks awesome actually I mostly like original looks. But this great to see nice work dude. Leaper looks a bit scary now or vicious. Would like to see more and even play it some time

I don't intend to go insane and make a wooly leaper, or anything
Crazy. I do however want to use real life textures

The leapers looked like dumb overbiting down syndrome gremlins
The purlinn look like grinning watermelons on an gorilla/pachyderm

I really like your new leapers whoa nice job there looking great a bit more scary to how about the big ones? The Purr-Linn should look interesting.
Maybe you should also try a Dimetrodon... (?) Sadly they didn't have sail backs in the game, probably because the makers at the time didn't have the power to create more complex features. That or definitely a Raptor Mech.

Tek raptor shouldn't be to far out, all I need is to re skin his tek parts
Dimetrodon may end up getting a sail, a fellow modder is gonna up the poly counts and uv unwrap to get some nice models.

Man this is like the Duke 3D HRP except for Turok :) pretty awesome keep it up dude you got something going here. The leaper video this video is nice right here shows a good sense of what you can do.

Now this ones looks great, good job. Big improvement over the earlier previews.
This is a nitpick, but the silvery things on the raptor's head arent part of their body but a kind of metal headset.

Looking a bit more interesting now though. Question what texture editor/model editor do you use for these?
Aww I love the metal plates they use it to head butt/scratch Turok with it but it doesn't hurt to see them without this keep it up :)

Just to keep you all up up to date, in working on lets see...weapons, lost land demons
, thunder, the dino skeleton in the lost land, poachers and campaigners troops...post some in next few days

Still Wip but nearly done with this one
I always felt the faces on them used to be horrendous, using like 3 to 4 pixels to describe the teeth
Always felt that thier armor was to similar to the tribal humans, bone armor, attacks, ext.
So this is my solution for now, have them in imposing armor that actually looks like it could take a shotty blast
Instead of the half naked bullet sponge. The faces are clearly defined, and look pretty good.
I know its not pixel by pixel recreation, I wanted to make that character seem separate and unique.

Interesting looks the demon looks cool. I also like the look of the assault rifle's wood in the pictures to :) But I think the dirt needs some minor touches but its not bad or anything just a nitpick it seems kind of plain on the dirt.

This does look really good I do like how you added your own touch to everything seems like you are moving right along up the ladder to finishing. If you had to guess how much of the game have you re-textured so far?

i just realized after you said that i changed the dirt weeks ago and never got around actually fixing it, it does looks like crap though.

over all i would probably say im about 30% done with retex the whole game.
the hub, the jungle, the ruins are almost completely done
i have only dabbled in the ancient city, catacombs and treetop tex wise
lost land(except the dead dino skeleton) and campaigners fortress i barely touched
monster wise
leaper, purlinn, raptor, demon are near completion
working currently on Thunder, poachers, campaigners troops, demon shaman and dimetrodon
i SHOULD in the next two weeks release the first of my enemy tex pack, but that can change depending on how much time i get.
if i had to give an estimate id say complete overhaul in the next 3-4 months. i know it sounds long but im only one person replacing, creating completely new tex of "its over 1000!!!!" textures.
thanks for the positive comments, im glad my iterations are pleasing to the true hardcore turok fanbase. this game brought me so much pleasure as a teen and im honored to be laboring each and every night to improve it

Have you done any of the trees, plants, or rocks in hd yet? This is interesting though one things for sure I am surprised that Turok finally offers what other classic games offered years ago which is editing the game and having fun inside of it. In a way it was worth the wait because its exciting now in 2016 and it has a new feeling. Anyways, I am rambling on and on. This looks great glad someone is doing something like this already.

What size o resolution you used??? Do you need change some config??? Or just replace image files?

Just have a look into game.kpf for the textures folder pretty sure you replace the images with your own then voila :)
Also wanted to say good job here

But original textures is 128x128 or 64x64 can I use bigger than 256x256???

yeah what i do is this.
-make a copy of "game.kpf"
-make folder in turok called "mods"
-move copy of "game.kpf" to "mods" directory
-change name of copy that is within the "mods" directory to "game.zip" ( if you use winzip )
-now that this file type is associated now with zips, you can rename it yet again to "game.kpf"
-you renamed it back so that Sobek.exe sees its as a folder containing a .kpf file to use overtop of the original game.kpf in the turok directory, this way when you change files your not changing the originals and cleaning up your mod is a simple process
-at that point, go into "mods", open your game.kpf(which is now linked to .zips), open the "textures" directory.
-you can change everything here just make sure to drag and dop the files you want to replace back into the game.kpf located into your "mods" directory
it SHOULD work...if doesnt make sure the game.kpf is really listed as .kpf when you right clikc on the file and go to properties, as long as its listed in the dialog box as "game.kpf" NOT "game.kpf.zip"
in regards to file size, i have yet to see any limit...
its alot of fun to mod the files but there are "OVER 1000!!!" textures. and finding the image you wanna change can be painful and long winded.

thanks all for the positivity. I am a father of 2 little ones and work 2 jobs, i have very limited time to spend doing the retexture, and anytime i am able to get something done its hard earned.
My goal is to get rid of all the old 32x32, 64x64 so on and so forth and replace them with no less than a full HD 2000 pixel image.
This mod will not be for everyone, but i do intend to stay true to the spirit of the settings and characters.
I look forward to sharing my labors with you all in the future.

I work and have kids to its tough trying to squeeze a hobby in. But good job on this glad you have good intentions to stay true to the spirit of the game as that's what real Turok fans may like most. High res mods are never meant for everyone on any classic game but there are always some who appreciate and enjoy that a lot. Anyways, glad to have someone who truly cares about the game doing re-textures. They look pretty good my favorite so far is the leaper but the trikes new colors are nice new touch making him somewhat reddish orangish I think cool stuff. I support this

Yeah dude this looks good actually. I noticed a few people have been re texturing the game some which is cool, but I only pay attention to this one since its on the forum :P
Besides it appears you have got the most work done on re-texturing. Also, I like the triceratops as red he actually looks kind of cool imo. Good job can't wait to see more 8)

and the teeth used to be about 6 or 8 large pyramidal molars. this was a test to see if i could weasle some more teeth effect out of the original tex wrap

yes the troops look a little awkward right now that was just my first pass at the retex for them, and to get used to the workflow involved with their textures.
So heres another vid i made real quick, showing the first pass at the mini gun and its ammo, and a funny ass longhunter whom i have decided will be played by....JON VOIGHT from ANACONDA(the model for the longhunter is poorly modeled, there is two areas around the temples that pinch in and become concave, making the eyes go all fetal alcohol syndrome

Thunder....thunder thunder thunder. over 25 textures, and over a month to get close to done. missing only like 2 or 3 textures(fingers, feet, stegosaurus tail spikes)
now i just have to finish detailing the gore on battle damage, correct seams on important intersecting textures, and finalize color.
which brings me to this question:
WHAT COLOR SHOULD THUNDER BE IN THE END? if you have an opinion let me know and i will take into consideration.

my goal is to deal with the pinched mesh on the right side of the face of the Longhunter with a gnarly scar or something like that. it drives me crazy not being able to get his face texture to wrap his face in a uniform and symetrical fashion.
and that shield looks awesome...
I finished redoing all the raptor textures on feet and hands, and look the raptor actually has nails on his minor digits. played with color a bit. mostly just testing to see what things will end up looking like. definitely gonna redo the banding pattern on the scales, its just coming off way too bold....

Some textures could get a slight tweak, mostly enemy textures. For example the purlin's mouth and eyes could do with a slightly bit more detail.
