Excuse the double post, but I don't think there's point in a separate thread?

-

I was playing through the rest of the Lightship, yesterday and wondered if anyone else noticed the ambient sounds of Oblivion?

If you use Duke's mod guide to open up the files with the "Developer 1" command (which I'm sure most of you already knew), you can find the sound file (Sounds > Wave) "OBLIVIONAMB01".

I love how his presence haunts the Lightship. After all, he wants Primagen to be freed so that the universe can be destroyed in the process. I'm not sure if I ever noticed in the N64 version, then lore was hard to come by and I just played the game.
I just checked and there is some ambient sounds in the original port and the n64, machinery in the background and things like that, big difference is how the n64 mixes them compared to the original port.

There's three ambient sounds in the remaster, first one echoes "this human", second one "primagen must not be stopped" and the last one I can't figure out.

In the port, they are generic echoes, roughly half a second long and you can sort of make out what they say if you listen closely, but in the n64 version, these echoes are sometimes drawn out for a couple of seconds and are mixed alongside the machinery sounds, so it's really hard to figure out what they say or if they are just generic ambient sound.

By the way, that fov slider from the remaster it's a godsend.

That switch in the picture is not the one that disables part of the force field. The actual switches are past some area that requires you to have a talisman.

Well, don't I feel stupid... Thanks! xD

It's been a while since I last played through this, so I forgot.

I think that qualities to go in my thread for the dumbest thing that I've ever done in Turok. LMFAO!

I'm loving this mod and I can even jump up in the Death Marsh trees! xD

How can I turn it off for single player game without taking it out of the folder?

I'd still like to play that normally and the wooden elevator jumps in the Lair are something I won't want to do at high speed. I always hated that part, though the game always had a jumping glitch. Remember when getting out of water use to make you run at a fast rate or was that only emulator? xD

-

Also, I think I may have to start a new game before even finishing... The second quadrant force field switch in the Lightship has been pressed, but the green energy is still flowing from that conduit.

I don't want to use the cheat just to get the key... FML!

Hopefully it's a visual glitch and I can still get it after the fourth quadrant. I've been playing this save file since the game was out and before updates... Maybe that's why it's glitched?

Back to the mod. I like this on multiplayer because you can easily dodge other players' gunfire and not get hit when running around a corner to cover. My survival was much better and I wasn't dying of one-shot kills every damn time I entered a fray with someone. I'm not one to coomplain about it (unlike some fool the other night, though that was pretty funny because he was mad as shit at all of us! xD), but I do hate one-shot deaths that are hard to avoid (like WTF just happened?).

With the fast paced mod, it's more fun and does require more faster thinking. I got some pretty good shots, too and running fast like the original Turok! xD

Thanks, Vis! :D

I noticed that there was a bit of a change on the multiplayer lobby... Has anything else changed in the last couple of days?

I haven't really played it... Not just because I got my Dark Souls 1 game running quite good now, but no one seems to be playing when I check. Ever since Daylight Saving ended here, my time has changed a bit.

Yeah, it was fun. :)

Edward says there's an incoming patch:

"We are aiming for Monday (we always try to release on a Monday, specifically Kaiser's Monday). The patch became larger than we expected and it needed an extra week (for example we wanted to get multiplayer balance testing done with Top Men)."

Hopefully, Monday means soon (not sure where Kaiser lives).  I'm hoping these Top Men have ironed out most of the MP quirks and everyone can upgrade to the latest version.

Gazer, I've noticed too, that most of the time there is only one server up and they're not running a beta build.

I also asked about revamping the in-game messaging system.  Again, Edward says, this has been addressed in the next build.

All in all, sounding good. :)

As soon as it goes live and I install it I'll start a server and just leave it (and Steam) running for a bit in case anyone is around to jump on.

Cherri Poppers - rofl - my favorite maraschino variety  :P

So maybe you could set that up One Eye. Whenever I look for a game there's maybe 1 game up and half the time it won't let me connect because of the beta feed. I know that Refux has offered to host up a server and he's in a good location for me, 100 ping near the east coast USA. I would think that by hangin' out on that Turok Forums chat room on steam is a good way to connect. Sundays are not particularly good for me.

although it was short lived, I had fun connecting to the UK from California so that you could get a little blood on the badge.

Well, in Turok 2 multiplayer. :P

Sadly, I only got to mess around for a few minutes but I did get to kill Gazer.  So, that was good!

Hopefully, I'll manage to get online with some more of you guys over the next wee while.

What's the easiest way to arrange a game?  What time is the MP most active?  I'm new to all this but I'm interested in getting in on it. :)

We should organise a Rok Match for your kids. :P

If nothing else it'd be really funny. :)

My four years old son and me today designed new skies for Turok2 EX. I remember the old days when I used to play it on my n64... now re texturing and changing everything with my son, I am so proud of him!

Official website of Turok2 EX - New Skies by Gael Romanet http://aspecmaps.free.fr/Turok2EX/

Look really nice especially like this one. Cool that you show your son Turok and how to edit things like this. My son is 6 I play some Rage Wars with him xD and we played some Turok 2 EX split screen. Anyways, nice job.
