I had P64 long before ordering my laptop from Dell. I made sure that I wasn't going to spend $1600 for something crappy. Even on my older computer (before that died), it ran fine. This freeze issue with the T1 ROM was a common problem. An LPer on YT by the name of Eexecute mentioned that his ROM might crash, when it played Level 3. I think it did, too. I have to re-watch his whole LP.
A location it loves to crash a lot in, is the part in Ancient City where you lower the stones down, that lead to the underground area with Poachers in it (before the warp).
I've had to resort to running from the area as the stones go down and try to get to the nearest save alter, because if I save state it, it will crash the second I reload. Even trying to run from the problem area, I can still get caught by the freeze.
This also can happens in The Lost Land and sometimes The Ruins. Falling down a bottomless void in Treetop Village can also get the game stuck. As for P64, I think I heard about a virus... I haven't had a need to download it in years (more than 5).

Turok 2 does work better, though. The only bugs I've noticed are the Flashlight and Flair Gun not working, but they're insignificant.

T1 was almost unplayable on P64 with the constant freezes from Level 3 and on.
There's no need for an emulator, if the game is properly ported.
I know this game will be, but I'm still paranoid about getting games off Steam, thanks to the shitty port of Dark Souls that they have up. I couldn't get a refund because I spent over two hours or whatever the limit is in the policy.
I don't think I'll get anything until this finally comes out. The first Turok was the reason why I got Steam in the first place. Emulation can be too buggy.

I can't wait to see what's been added. I wouldn't mind trying multiplayer, even though I'm not big on PvP.
I loved the way the fog and sunlight looked in T1, I wonder what other effects they'll have for this... This was quite a dark game (without fixing the brightness), so it will be interesting to see what the ambiance is like.
I'd like to play at normal settings for once, so the Flashlight and Flair Gun would be useful, once again. Even something simple like that, I missed seeing while playing the emulated version on Project64.

I don't like hype trains and people who just come to games because its releasing. True fans always stick by there games these people come running just because its coming. They want to put there reviews, get click baits to there sites, and act like they been around all along. When in reality all they're doing is flocking for attention. Don't get me wrong I know there are people who like Turok but its not part of there everyday thoughts. They just like to talk it when its releasing and act like they know what is good for it. Not trying to be mean either lot of ppl think I am mean xD I just say how I see it heheh. Anyways, I wish we could know a little more about how T2 is going we will probably know soon

Umm i'm not 100% but I don't think it was ever freeware Disney owned Turok with Turok 08 and I think the division that Turok was in got sent to Dreamworks. So it is Dreamworks or Disney which...well is never a good thing. So I think Turok was like Duke Nukem. The rights were split. Acclaim/Iguana kept the rights to the classics aka the games they created. But Disney/Dreamworks took the franchise over which means anything "new" related to Turok belongs to them. In this case an editor is probably considered "new material" and maybe they are fighting it to prevent the release. Again this is just my guess but I have been talking things over some with Duke64 here. Not saying that he gave me any sensitive information though just the basic pieces then I make my own assumptions.

Who holds the rights? last time I knew, before this remaster the game was freeware. I guess theres the rights to the character itself but that might work differently (like how some companies can release marvel movies but not videogames)

Nor any words on the editor for the first game.
I'm going to take an educated guess about the editor right now. Night Dive is probably struggling to get the allowance rights. Since they do not own Turok in full and only the rights to release classic games. If we make new levels for Turok that is like considered new content for Turok which falls in the full owners hands not Night Dive. That might not have been in the contract. Its also possible that Night Dive can't even talk about the sensitive information or it might make the chances of it releasing even slimmer.
