It was kind of hilarious and I guess it was done on purpose. Had anyone had this happened to them?
Also, bleeding cyborgs...That's wonderful. Posted by: AbyssalDragon86« on: December 22, 2015, 10:17:06 AM »
Yeah, I know. That's why it was weird to me when I wasn't using the knife or arrows. It's no big deal because I already had the four that I wanted and I knifed them out of the enemies in level 1. I got a few with the rifle while killing raptors in level 2. You can get Mortal Wounds from the raptors in the old game. You can't get them at all on Hard mode, but I'm not sure if that's changed for this one? Posted by: Mon-Ark« on: December 22, 2015, 09:22:50 AM »Quote Also, am I the only one occasionally getting Mortal Wounds when using the rifle? I didn't think it works with guns... But, I'm playing Easy. Its most likely a bug. You only get them by using the knife and the bow's regular arrows. Cant remember if only human enemies drop them also. Quote On a small note, I have to say that I love that they improved the shockwave cannon by making the charged shots not only cover a wider range but also becoming stronger. Wasnt that already happening before? Posted by: AbyssalDragon86« on: December 22, 2015, 04:11:32 AM »Seriously, the enemies are really harder on this version, even on normal mode they are way more of a challenge than in the original N64. Hard is certainly a challenge but manageable, I managed to finish the game on that difficulty after switching from normal mode on level 3. I'll have to give that a try to see what that's like. You forgot to mention the Carboniferous Dragonflies. They would be a pain in the arse on Hardcore mode, because they're hard to hit at times. Not to mention the Yellow & Red Robots and the Triceratops Riders. Those Triceratops on the hardest mode would probably give me as much trouble as the Hell Knights from Doom 3 did, earlier this year when I played it. Like the BFG9000, the Fusion Cannon is the answer for my problems! xD Posted by: Cyriu« on: December 22, 2015, 01:36:31 AM »Seriously, the enemies are really harder on this version, even on normal mode they are way more of a challenge than in the original N64. But hardcore mode, oh boy, I started a new game on that difficulty and after a few minutes on level 3 I had to switch back to hard mode because I was getting killed left and right. The campaigner soldiers/poachers certainly have taken lessons from the forsaken warriors from Turok 3 because once they decide to start opening fire with their assault rifles they just stay glued firing away like crazy, lowering you health pretty quickly and rarely missing a shot. The already frustrating ancient warriors with blowguns become a real pain. Purlins become a nightmare and raptors always seem to give me a good maul before giving up the ghost. Even those with melee weapons had become a thing and leapers...oh god. On a small note, I have to say that I love that they improved the shockwave cannon by making the charged shots not only cover a wider range but also becoming stronger. I noticed it on level 7, when I charged it and a alien was carbonized with one shot but regular shots took like three to be carbonized. I am glad they fixed this because originally that was a weapon that I only used on caves or in certain areas of the catacombs against leapers and beetles, now it is more useful and awesome. That's a level that definitely looks better without extended draw distance and makes it feel darker. I've noticed that the Grenadiers don't throw grenades over your head, like they use to. xD Also, am I the only one occasionally getting Mortal Wounds when using the rifle? I didn't think it works with guns... But, I'm playing Easy. I'll play higher difficulty when I start again. I love how there was a Swift and Deadly achievement. I lured four giant cave beetles and swiped them. One better than killing three at once! xP Level 1 is still a level that I can mostly run around with just a knife in hand. Seeming I'm looking for Mortal Wounds early in the game, it saves me ammo for the levels ahead. I heard sometime later they might plan to release the stages in its original versions. As for modding, im wondering if besides a stage creator there will be possible to modify the models (enemies, guns) Quote Only bad thing I can say is the shotgun comes of screen while reloading if you look at the butt of the gun while pumping the shotgun you can see it come of screen. But that's no big deal It might have been possible that this already happened on the N64/old PC version Posted by: MaxMan« on: December 21, 2015, 11:40:47 AM »the enemy ai is surely smarter these guys don't mess around anymore
![]() ![]() I saw people trippin over the price also but to me it is worth it guys the price is okay did you guys know we can mod the game already? I'm not so good with doing it but you really can mod it now ![]() Only bad thing I can say is the shotgun comes of screen while reloading if you look at the butt of the gun while pumping the shotgun you can see it come of screen. I haven't noticed any bugs and light scatter is really pretty
![]() but now that the ai is more aggresive thats probably useless now. The ai is smarter now right? I thought so to the enemies are much harder and fire more shots to. On hard mode wow, there so fast its actually really hard so I played on normal. But still on normal there tougher then the original ![]() Posted by: Mon-Ark« on: December 20, 2015, 09:09:12 PM »It gives more of that ambiance of the original version and not quite knowing what's lurking in the fog/shadows ahead. For sure, specially in the catacombs. It also kinda helped melee enemies have a chance at hitting you, but now that the ai is more aggresive thats probably useless now. Posted by: AbyssalDragon86« on: December 20, 2015, 11:35:32 AM »I haven't actually started a proper game yet, but I have played a bit of all the levels (using cheats) to see the improvements. I like how some areas are completely different looking and there's extra things added. It's nice to hear the original music.
Yeah, I'm having issues with the Light Scatter and I had to turn it off. I mentioned it in the bugs thread. It's no big deal, although I'd like to appreciate the light beams through the fog. As much as I love the graphical improvements, I think I still prefer the draw distance turned off and happy there's that option. It gives more of that ambiance of the original version and not quite knowing what's lurking in the fog/shadows ahead. This beats playing it on the emulator and I was happy to spend a little money on it. The only thing I wish I had seen was the endless bouncing of dead bodies (with Grenades or Alien Weapon) and still hearing them scream. I know that defies logic with a big fat middle finger, but it was funny! xD When I start a proper play-through, I'll take my time because I like to enjoy it. My Steam is: Dragon_of_The_Abyss86 but I won't really be on it much. Posted by: Cyriu« on: December 19, 2015, 11:00:11 PM »So far I am half-way level 6. I am starting to appreciate how corrected the enemy speed is on hard mode and how they fixed the spiritual invisibility/enemy speed glitch from the N64 version. I am struggling with ammunition now so it''s all slashy slashy with raptors, ancient warriors, poachers, and campaigner soldiers. And dang, are leapers even more of a annoyance.
