The cover art (as well as the bulk of Turok art) was created by Matt Stubbington.  Matt was one of the founders of Iguana and a spectacular artist.  Sadly he passed away three years ago from a hereditary disease. 

I had asked Matt to create a piece of art for promo use that was evocative of the scene in Jurassic Park where the alpha velociraptor ambushes gamekeeper Robert Muldoon.

The idea was a dense rainy forest scene with just hints of the rex in shadow.  glowing eyes, glint of teeth, etc...

It was a tough concept to pull off as a static image and just when we were going to give up on the idea Matt came up with that.

It was never intended to be the package but was just such a kick ass piece of art it was only natural that we used it.

Nice! I actually thought the Evolution raptor was better. I know they look quite similar but the tongue, teeth, and eyes were better in the Evolution raptor.  Pretty cool green Jurassic Park raptor hehe
