If I'm understanding you correctly, then yeah, I went back and adjusted the levels on some of the older images. The models looked good in Blender, but once everything was said and done, they were just too dark.

@operative Im: One question dude, you posted in Turok wiki some images of the model with more light or its my idea?

Operative Im, can you tell me how to extract models from Turok Evolution please!
Im not Operative but here are the scripts + what seems to be all the models converted into .3ds files:

I didn't have any luck with that script either. The one I used was posted on the forums, but the post seems to have been misplaced when Duke was splitting threads off.

No bones as far as I'm aware, at least not directly (animations are included in the .atr files), but my lack of in-depth knowledge in this area is no secret. :P

I have been wanting to extract these models for awhile now but I can't seem to figure out how to work the QuickBMS program (v0.7.1 as of now) and the turokATFto3dsUVBeta.bms script for the PC version off of the PS23DFormat site. I am attempting to import the models to 3DsMax 2010.

For example: I want to get the War Club weapon view model, so I copied and pasted the .atf into the same folder of the BMS script. I then booted up QuickBMS and selected the turokATF BMS script to use, then selected the War Club weapon model to be converted into .3Ds format. Lastly, I opened up 3DsMax 2010 to import the model and I get an error that reads "Improper File Format".

Am I missing a few steps? Any help is appreciated! :)

I am also curious if this script grabs the bones from the models as well or if its just the model alone. The bones would be needed for when someone eventually makes an animation ripping script to apply to the models.

@DoomGuy: That true, I dont know why, but the media punish this game. Maybe for the hype. But in my opinion is the Turok that I have best moments. The levels are epic, specially the flying ones! Imagine walk the lake part! Thta could be lovely and epic! I hope along with Turok 1 and 2 remakes will be Evolution.

Nice stuff here! That Komodo Dragon is really cool, why it would not make it into the game is beyond my brain power.

The models in Evolution are so cool, this game was under rated by the stupid media. The creatures alone on this game 10/10

You are correct dude the critics went hard on this game. This game is amazing the critics probably weren't paid. If its one thing I have learned its never listen to the critics.

Know why ? because they are paid by the companies that make the games if you don't pay them right then bad reviews will be sent out. I have a feeling the Turok devs felt over confident that Turok will do good either way. But you see once a reviewer bad mouths a game the followers jump on board with them. Most of the time not even playing it they just go ahead and agree! Never listen to "established" reviewers they are grading by how much they are paid to review it :)

Well yeah, we have files; what do you think this thread's been doing model-wise? :P  They're just sitting in the game's directory. You can view the Tenontosaurus here. The Kronosaur is currently unable to be viewed as it's a different file type from the one the script can convert.

Thanks to share this Duke. Somebody found Tenontosaurus and Kronosaurus files?

Wonder if there are more casual reptiles in there to, those are always nice to see like the turtles, frogs, and lizards.

The komodo Dragon is worth a second mention to

Actually that post was probably my favorite hehe it has the Turtles to and much more including beta models :)

I was only referring to the .atr files that were converted with the script that the guy from PS23DFormat provided you. Factoring in the .mtfs, and even the .atrs that the script didn't convert, then yeah, there's probably a couple hundred more. And that's a low-ish estimate. :V

Once Stinkee gets his viewer totally up and running, and if it works like I think it will, then everybody can looks through the files (if they have them), no conversion necessary. Will make my job a lot easier. :P

I'm not entirely sure as I haven't loaded them all up to see which ones are duplicates. I'd say somewhere between 20-30. Definitely no more than 40 at the very most.

Do you think the old textures are still there? (Warclub was different i think and the shotgun looked yellow.)

For the War Club, yes, but it looks like the texture isn't complete and doesn't entirely fit the UV map of the model. There isn't a separate texture file for the Shotgun.

It's update time, one month later. I'm going to try something different and link to only the first image of the update. That way, you guys will be able to scroll through the other images in the update, and I'll be able to stay within the forum's arbitrary-only-for-me link requirements.

The first image is of a generic turret. It's also called a Limpet Turret in the files, just like the last turret I posted. I still see no connection with limpets.

If you'll click the Next button, the next two images are of the same turret without its base. One is flipped upside-down because apparently that one needed its own model because of reasons.

And lastly, the fourth image is of everybody's favorite captain, Tobias Bruckner. That arm of his is fancy.

EDIT: Okay, yeah, the link doesn't work the way I thought it would. Just scroll down to the bottom of the album and look at the last four images. That'll do. :V

I'm hoping to start this back up within the next few days. I'm going to keep the updates small, so hopefully they'll be more frequent?

Nice can't wait to see more :D
