Thanks Stinkee, kinda been waiting for that ability to export the models as obj with the mtl intact and talking about this xD. Great job though I am definitely going to use some of this, and credits for model rips to you in my T2 mod.

Random for this thread but:

I finished the dm map ruins already and have level 1 in full wip right now, had a lot of motivation :) Screenshots are just example of day 1 there is still somethings to do to these even on the material file. Anyways, I'll make a thread in T2 modding for this once I get even more done.

Keep up the good work on the editor there.  :turok:

I wrote a program that converted all the levels and actors to .obj/.mtl files. They're not all perfect (especially the animated actors), but I uploaded them for anyone who wants them:

Levels: https://www.sendspace.com/file/2bq0fl
Actors: https://www.sendspace.com/file/2cuu9y

The textures are included as .bmp files alongside each .obj file

I can convert these to work with Turok 2 ex but I don't have the time to map them out in editor. Perhaps I can do a asset pack.

no it has some thing to do with model itself when i smoothed it out and took the resolution higher the mesh start breaking thats what those cracks are.

If I'm understanding you correctly, then yeah, I went back and adjusted the levels on some of the older images. The models looked good in Blender, but once everything was said and done, they were just too dark.

@operative Im: One question dude, you posted in Turok wiki some images of the model with more light or its my idea?

Operative Im, can you tell me how to extract models from Turok Evolution please!
Im not Operative but here are the scripts + what seems to be all the models converted into .3ds files:

I didn't have any luck with that script either. The one I used was posted on the forums, but the post seems to have been misplaced when Duke was splitting threads off.

No bones as far as I'm aware, at least not directly (animations are included in the .atr files), but my lack of in-depth knowledge in this area is no secret. :P

I have been wanting to extract these models for awhile now but I can't seem to figure out how to work the QuickBMS program (v0.7.1 as of now) and the turokATFto3dsUVBeta.bms script for the PC version off of the PS23DFormat site. I am attempting to import the models to 3DsMax 2010.

For example: I want to get the War Club weapon view model, so I copied and pasted the .atf into the same folder of the BMS script. I then booted up QuickBMS and selected the turokATF BMS script to use, then selected the War Club weapon model to be converted into .3Ds format. Lastly, I opened up 3DsMax 2010 to import the model and I get an error that reads "Improper File Format".

Am I missing a few steps? Any help is appreciated! :)

I am also curious if this script grabs the bones from the models as well or if its just the model alone. The bones would be needed for when someone eventually makes an animation ripping script to apply to the models.

@DoomGuy: That true, I dont know why, but the media punish this game. Maybe for the hype. But in my opinion is the Turok that I have best moments. The levels are epic, specially the flying ones! Imagine walk the lake part! Thta could be lovely and epic! I hope along with Turok 1 and 2 remakes will be Evolution.

Nice stuff here! That Komodo Dragon is really cool, why it would not make it into the game is beyond my brain power.

The models in Evolution are so cool, this game was under rated by the stupid media. The creatures alone on this game 10/10

You are correct dude the critics went hard on this game. This game is amazing the critics probably weren't paid. If its one thing I have learned its never listen to the critics.

Know why ? because they are paid by the companies that make the games if you don't pay them right then bad reviews will be sent out. I have a feeling the Turok devs felt over confident that Turok will do good either way. But you see once a reviewer bad mouths a game the followers jump on board with them. Most of the time not even playing it they just go ahead and agree! Never listen to "established" reviewers they are grading by how much they are paid to review it :)
