Anything Else / Re: What's Your Favourite Dinosaur?

Dilophosaurus. Ever since I saw Jurassic Park as a wee lad. Even after I learned that its neck frill and spitting ability were fictional. It's just really cool.

Turok Comics Discussion / Re: Turok Comics

I'd assume Dynamite Entertainment has rights to republish the older material, but if they don't, I'm not clear on who does.

The Evolution tie-in's comparatively cheap, as long as you aren't chasing after the EB Games variant. :P  *Pre-post addendum: Or at least it was. It usually hangs around $4, but now I'm seeing $11-$25.*

Any way to get the online-only comics? (basically the comics showing the events from the games)

The online comic is floating around in an archive somewhere out there on the internet. That's the best I can do without uploading it myself, and I'm not sure if that's an acceptable practice. :V

Turok Comics Discussion / Re: Are the Dynamite Comics Really That Bad?
« on: April 04, 2017, 10:19:58 PM »
A lot of Valiant fans hold a grudge against Dynamite due to some fairly underhanded business practices/extortion tactics that happened during the Acclaim IP auction way back when; that might account for at least a small portion of the negativity you're hearing.

I thought the Dynamite run was neat for the first two arcs. Then Turok literally became Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest and all. At that point, the line's cancellation was a mercy.

Gold Key: Alliance was okay. Interested to see where Sovereigns goes.

Info/Help / Re: Is There an Official Wiki?

Thank you for your kind words! Feel free to pop on over any time, but don't feel like you're obligated. I totally get your issues with Wikia (the ads are my biggest peeve at the moment), and if you don't feel right with it, that's perfectly okay. :)

I honestly have no idea! :V  I first joined up with the wiki a few years after it had been created. It would be a good question for the original admin staff, but they've pretty much all wandered off elsewhere.

(A+ plug there, Dinomite)

I'm one of the administrators over on the Turok Wiki, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer! The wiki doesn't have as much information on it as I'd like, especially concerning the comics, but we only have a small handful of people who edit it regularly (myself included). It's a slow process. :P

Turok 2 Seeds of Evil / Re: Night Dive Q & A (have your say)
« on: March 21, 2017, 07:30:23 PM »
It's such a shame becasue he agreed to the answer the questions but changed his mind.
I guess if enough people request answers he might do something about it.
This is his twitter account https://twitter.com/pripyatbeast

It might not be that he just decided not to, but that he realized that the submitted questions wouldn't pass approval. It's been seeming like NBC/Comcast (assuming they're who he's dealing with; they currently own the Turok IP) has been rather strict with the information that they want public. And if Night Dive answers non-approved questions, it could be seen as breach of contract and they could lose the license.

Turok 2 Seeds of Evil / Re: Turok 2 EX Turok 2 remaster 2017

That comment about the x86 - x64 thing seems questionable. I would assume it should run on 32bit win7 or vista since most people run steam from 32bit emulation mode on win7.

Nope, 32-bit Win7 here, and Steam has the game listed as Not Available for me, which is what it does for all games that require 64-bit OS's. GOG at least lets me try to install it, but the install is only 22MB and fails automatically. :P

I've been in the process of buying parts for a long-overdue upgrade; I'm just a few hundred dollars short of the end result. I'll get there eventually.

I'd read about the beta skin being in the game. Nice to actually see it. Is it for all of the raptors or just some of them?

I also saw a video of a graveyard sequence, and it seems like they added in the variant Deadmen. Or at least I think they're an addition; I don't recall them ever appearing in the original game.

Everything's second-hand info for me at the moment. The game doesn't run on my ancient 32-bit operating system, lolol.

Turok General Discussion / Re: Ideas For New Turok Game by Nightdive?
« on: March 08, 2017, 10:32:02 PM »
Thought of something else I'd like to see. Turok 2 makes a big deal at the end of how the Oblivion signature is eerily similar to the signature of the Light Burden, what with it being the last remnant of the energy of pure creation and all, and how the Turok lineage had apparently dealt with the threat at some point in the past. According to the strategy guide draft from the Acclaim Archives, the original backstory was that the Flesh Eaters had full reign of the Lost Land in the days before the Turok line existed. Once the Turoks appeared, they and the Flesh Eaters battled for centuries, until Tal'Set took the mantle and swore to wipe them out once and for all. Gathering a large number of the various tribes that lived in the Lost Land, Tal'Set fought in brutal campaigns that culminated in a large battle that saw almost all of the Flesh Eaters wiped out. They retreated back beneath the mountains and went unheard of until Joshua fought the Primagen.

tl;dr - I want to see a game where you play as Tal'Set and deal with the Oblivion threat.

It wouldn't have to follow the old backstory exactly, especially since the games retconned Tal'Set as the first Turok, so there wouldn't be centuries of prior conflict to build off of.
